Another win for Colorado weed retailers is that state regulators have reported a 98 percent compliance rate with checking ID before allowing purchases. These regulations help support the professionalism, peace and safety of the industry as a whole. In April 2022, Colorado’s marijuana sales hit $153 million, a 5 percent dip from March 2022. The slight decline in sales could be attributed to the recently enacted purchase limits, particularly for concentrates. The daily limit has dropped to eight grams for all recreational users and medical patients over 21, or two grams if they are 18 to 20 years old. One benefit of the new rules is that patients under 21 now require deeper consultations by two physicians, giving younger users more protection when crafting their care plans.
