The HFT Hemp Building Symposium 2026 will take place on October 23–24, 2026, at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Stuttgart, Faculty of Architecture and Design in Stuttgart, Germany.

Following the first Hemp Construction Symposium held at HFT Stuttgart in 2024, the 2026 edition provides a platform for exchange and knowledge transfer on building with hemp. The symposium focuses on the potential of industrial hemp as a natural building material, from its fundamental material properties and construction technologies to research, educational projects, and completed building projects. The program covers both theoretical and practical aspects of hemp construction, including hemp cultivation, hemp-lime building methods, completed projects, research, and practical construction applications. The symposium is organized by the Interior Architecture program at HFT Stuttgart’s Faculty of Architecture and Design and was initiated by Prof. Jens Betha, head of the Laboratory for Natural Building Materials. HFT Stuttgart

The event will be conducted in German. An application for recognition as continuing education has been submitted to the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects (AKBW) and the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Engineers; recognition should therefore be treated as pending rather than confirmed.
